Subject Implementation

Subject Implementation
at Church Drive Primary School

The implementation of the curriculum is concerned with how the intent is taught to ensure that progress is made by all.

At Church Drive our broad and balanced curriculum is delivered through meaningful, collaborative, active lessons, designed to develop knowledge, skills and understanding within each subject.

The implementation of our curriculum is supported by carefully structured unit plans, leading pupils through knowledge and skills in all subjects.

Our pedagogical approach is based on Rosenshine’s Principles of Direct Instruction. The clarity and simplicity of this approach supports teachers to engage with cognitive science and the wider world of educational research.

To find out more about the curriculum our school is following, please see the National Curriculum below.
