We are Cedar Class. Our class teachers are Mrs Wood and Mrs Webster and our Teaching Assistant is Ms Godfrey.
We work very hard in Cedar class making sure all of our children have exciting and challenging opportunities. This year (Year 5) is particularly important, as the children develop their skills and responsibilities ready to enter Year 6 next year.
We all enjoy learning lots of new, interesting and exciting things in Cedar Class, especially within our topic Learning Challenges. As well as following the National Curriculum in Maths (using Singapore Maths), English and Science, we explore all other curriculum areas using our Creative Curriculum. This year, we have lots of exciting learning challenges within our Creative Curriculum such as:
Why is Liverpool such an important city?
Where in the world is China?
Who were the Early Civilizations? (Stone-Age to Iron Age)
Our focus this year is making sure everyone in our class know their times tables and Year 5 spellings, and read every day. To support this we will be having termly prizes for our best readers.
In Cedar, we also enjoy reading a wide range of books, especially by our class author Michael Morpurgo. Cedar class love writing reviews of their favourite books to share with their classmates.
Cedar all follow our school golden rules, support each other and make our class a very happy place to be where everyone can succeed!
